Mamma Mia Mania

Well guys, paws up who’s got a sore heed this morning then!! Anyway I had a great time and it seemed that everyone else did too. Firstly a big thanks to Bob Farmer and Robert Gillies who went to really pushed the boat out in organising the event which I think you will all agree was a great success. We haven’t got the final total as to just how much money we raised but we’ll let you know what it is as soon as we do. On that note another big thanks to Julie Anderson and her husband Phil (who personally I think has missed his vocation in life and should be employed selling snow to Eskimos or perhaps coal to Newcastle!!) Their combined efforts in selling the LegendsTrek merchandise was also been a real boost to the funds and we have a list as long of my leg of orders which I will be processing as fast as my paws can type. Finally another big thanks to all those who helped on the night and continue to help behind the scenes with organisation and fundraising to make this, the fifth trek, the biggest and best yet.

Bye for now guys, keep following the blog for news and updates as we have lots of important news on the horizon and there are a few things that we need to let walkers know before they come and join us on the trek.

Training weekend update

Hi Folks
Another busy week rounded off with a fabulous weekend off training for the Trek.

Friday was a quiet one, just a couple of miles on the sand dunes at Lytham then we stepped it up a bit on Saturday with a hike up the steep slopes of Parlick (summit 1417ft) which is in the Bowland fells of Lancashire. As the pictures will show (when I've uploaded them!)The top was covered in fog which made navigation a little tricky and I was a little less than chuffed with being guided into a peat bog!!!! Anyway it was a good wee training exercise and as they keep telling me, its character building (what with that and the moonlit hike across the pennines the other week I must have some character by now!!)

Today we came a little closer to home for a trek in the Lake District, taking in Ashness Bridge, Watendlath and Bowder Stone. Again we got some great pics (which will soon be uploaded)I saw a red squirrel which for some reason Scott wouldn't let me chase, something to do with endangered speices or something like that, hmmph,I only wanted to say hello!! Anyway, the terrain was a bit rough and we had to work really hard to remain injury free. Check out Trav TV (soon) to see me and Scott in action. Bowder Stone is an immense isolated boulder left by retreating glaciers during the last Ice Age. It's estimated to weigh more than 2000 tons!!! (Cheers ordnance survey for that info, guide dogs are a bit rubbish at describing geological features!!)

Highlights of the weekend for me were watching my mate Tigga getting chucked in Derwent Water because she'd rolled in sheep poo, and of course the bonios at lunchtime!!

Hope anyone thinking of joining the trek is doing at least a little bit of training to try and keep up with me and Scott, but be careful on them there hills!!!

Follow this blog for some important updates regarding joining the trek coming soon and I promise to get the photos uploaded soon.

Pennine Launch of TravisTrek5

Hooowwwll. Hiya folk, had a fab weekend with Scott and the gang at the official launch of TravisTrek5 at the Pennine location, All I can say is CitroenAX's are not made with snow chains just in case anyone was wondering, although I knew that and I'm a dog!! However the 4 mile walk in the dark and snow drifts was great training and as they kept telling me was "character building!" although I wasn’t aware my character needed much building!
Anyway, a big thank you to all those that made the journey and helped to kick this Trek off in spectacular fashion and an extra special thank you and even a lick of the ears to the stars of the show, Peter Hook and Tom Hingley who travelled through hell, high water, and loads of lovely snow to make the gig such a success. The first of many more Legends to appear on this Trek.

Will be putting the video footage on Utube and posting some photo’s of me and Scott enjoying the snow just as soon as I can defrost my furry paws!!

Catch ya all soon
